Just because you’re choosing to do a Micro-Wedding doesn’t mean that you have to have no style! One of the best ways to include your personal style is to have a gorgeous wedding cake! Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner reception after your elopement or you’re waiting until you get home to have a big Home-Town Bash, you can certainly include the cake!

In Part One of our two part series, we’re going to focus on the Intimate Dinner Reception on the day of your small wedding.

What are your Post-Elopement Plans?

Intimate Dinner Reception

If you’re going out to dinner after your mini-wedding, you’ll want to make sure you choose a style that will work as a small cake. You won’t want to have too much excess since you won’t have a ton of guests. If your heart is set on a tall cake, you can certainly have one! Talk to your bakers about doing a tier or two of fake cake. Yes, you read correctly, fake cake! They can absolutely make layers of real cake and layers for the size!

At your Intimate Dinner Reception, you can choose fun flavors that you love! Since you don’t need to worry about pleasing lots of people, you can choose to have your strawberry lemonade cake, passion fruit buttercream, or even carrot cake!
