What is an Elopement Wedding?
Micro-Weddings, Mini Weddings, Intimate Weddings, Small Weddings, Elopement Weddings, they’re all the same! It doesn’t matter what you call it, an Elopement Wedding is a gorgeous alternative to the big headache of a large wedding. We believe that you don’t have to sacrifice style and luxury to have the elopement wedding of your dreams.
Traditional Elopement
Let’s first start out by explaining what an elopement was traditionally — before elopements were held for various reasons, but with the main theme secrecy. This meant that the couple alone would go to a local courthouse and just get married on paper. We are here to erase this old definition of elopements.
The Modern Elopement Wedding
An Elopement Wedding is so much more than what your parents think an elopement is. You can still have so many of the beautiful wedding elements that you have been dreaming of since your birth. A Modern Elopement Wedding still incorporates the style, luxury, and intimacy that makes a wedding special. We encourage gorgeous flowers, professional photography, and epic locations to make this day unforgettable.
What an Elopement Wedding Is
Location is Key
An Elopement Wedding is the culmination of your love story, so make it memorable. The first piece of a Modern Elopement Wedding is the setting. Choose a venue or location that is special to you, this can be somewhere you have been before that is a part of your relationship or somewhere you’ve been dreaming of going. We encourage all couples to choose the backdrop carefully as this is one of the elements that will give you that luxury feeling to your elopement wedding.
When deciding your location, a key point to consider is if the site is a private or public venue. We recommend private so that you have the whole space to yourself.
Photography is Everything
Elopement Weddings of the past skipped out on the photography and it breaks our hearts! Our number one piece of advice for couples eloping is to get the photographer. You will treasure these gorgeous photos for the rest of your lives. Since you won’t have the big guest count, you are going to want photos to share with all of the important people in your lives that weren’t able to come along.
To Invite Guests or Not to Invite Guests
Traditional Elopements were secret and didn’t involve anyone other than the couple. Elopements of our time and the weddings of the future don’t have to be secret — you can still invite people to views your vows. An Elopement Wedding is anything from the two of you up to a group of 30 people. Keep it small in order to keep it intimate and simple.
Keep it Beautiful
Make sure to still include the style elements that you have been dreaming of: the dress, the hair, the flowers! Do it all. Since you will be saving so much money by limiting your guest count and eliminating the unnecessary expenses of a large wedding, you will have the budget for your must-have design elements.
