One of the most common questions brides and grooms ask us is what time of day they should hold their ceremony. The couples always want to know what time will be best for lighting and comfort. Often, our couples think that doing a sunrise ceremony will be better for lighting, but our secret is — GOLDEN HOUR.

The last hour before sunset is famous for the most beautiful lighting that makes everyone look superb. This is the time of day that film producers wait for to make movies to get the best quality lighting. The angle of the sun is so much better for your photos so that you don’t get any harsh shadows across your face. The saddest feeling is getting your wedding photos back and having your beautiful smiles covered in shadows. Added bonus, some times you get the most epic sunsets you can imagine.

This couple did their ceremony right before a photo tour during golden hour and it paid off immensely. Just check out the lighting in these gorgeous photos!
