Remembering Those who have Passed on at Your Elopement Ceremony

One of the most touching details our couples choose to include is to a loving nod to their family members or friends who have passed along. There are people who are so important to you who may not be able to be physically present at your elopement that you will wish to include in a special way.

This beautiful couple is a prime example — not only did they invite their most special family and friends, but the bride was very cautious to make sure to include her brother who is no longer here with us. He is very special to her and they had a close relationship so she wanted nothing more than to feel her brother’s presence on her wedding day.

In order to make his presence known, we left one chair open for him and in it we placed a candle and a plaque dedicated to him. Prior to the ceremony, the bride’s other brother light the candle and it burned through out the ceremony. It was so touching to honor his example and life in this intimate way.
