Coronavirus vs. Your Wedding | The Elopement Alternative
The entire world as a whole right now is experiencing something so unforeseeable and unprecedented — the Coronavirus pandemic. With new cases being diagnosed every day, this has been the cause of much widespread panic.
The entire world as a whole right now is experiencing something so unforeseeable and unprecedented — the Coronavirus pandemic. With new cases being diagnosed every day, this has been the cause of much widespread panic.
It’s no secret that the Coronavirus is taking a toll on events with most large gatherings cancelling weeks ago. Social distancing has become a heavily pushed way of life with rules in place to ban gatherings of more than 50 at first, but has now been updated to just 10 people. With our government officials encouraging us to not gather in places with more than 10 people, how can we continue our lives with some semblance of normality?
We want to address those who are looking to plan a wedding amidst all the chaos. Our message to you: there is a way to wed even with the COVID-19 chaos! Elopements are the perfect alternative to a large wedding.
Traditionally large weddings are a huge stress to plan in any normal circumstances, but with the added pressure of travel bans, small gathering regulations, and being a responsible citizen, planning a wedding right now is just too much to handle! Our hearts go out to the couples who have planned these gorgeous weddings for the next few months only to be forced to cancel, postpone, or move forward with the hope that this will blow over.
We are here to offer you a solution to all of this craziness — eloping! Elopements are less stressful in every sense of wedding planning. A Modern Elopement ranges from just the couple to bringing along only your closest family and friends. There are four huge benefits to this smaller guest count.
Limit Spread of Disease — government and health officials have advised against assembling large groups of people as these gatherings can expose you to a lot more people with their accompanying germs. You are more likely to cross paths with someone who may have been exposed to the Coronavirus even if they aren’t showing any symptoms. While this may not be a huge risk for you personally, weddings tend to involve a lot of people in those high risk categories such as grandparents, pregnant women, and small children.
Provides Intimacy — small guest counts is something we have been preaching for years! Why? Because you get to spend so much more time focusing on the people around you who are the most important to you. You can actually share deep, meaningful moments with your small guest count instead of being paraded around to hundreds of guests.
Allows for Flexibility — with new developments every day, smaller weddings allow for much more flexibility! We have seen weddings with huge guest counts be cut down to 10% of their size because of a travel ban. If you start out with a small group, then you are much less likely to be affected by any changes to border security.
Saves Money — less people means that you will spend less on money on so may small details that add up. There are expenses that no one thinks about like the chairs or transportation for all of these guests that really take a toll on your wedding budget. With the global economy in a slight panic at the moment, no on can afford to be careless with their money right now. Because eloping means everything is scaled back, you end up saving tons of money without sacrificing the beauty or style that comes along with the wedding day.
“But I’ve always dreamed of having a huge wedding!”
For some couples, they grew up dreaming about this lavish party with hundreds of their closest family and friends. We want you to be able to have the wedding of your dreams while still remaining safe and responsible in this trying time. SOLUTION: Elope in a stress-free intimate ceremony, and have the party when we have beaten the Coronavirus! You can move forward with the elopement and then plan your hometown bash when you are sure that it will be safe to move forward.
“My family will be offended if they are not all invited.”
Since this is such a crazy time, we guarantee that no one will be offended if you explain to them that you are worried about their health and safety. Simply talk to them about how you are worried about exposing people to COVID-19 and would prefer to keep this as small as you can. You can mention to them that the government and medical professionals have advised against large gatherings. If you are loving and show them that you have their best interest at heart, they will understand!
The Coronavirus is causing so many new daily challenges that have altered the way our world in functioning. We encourage everyone to stay safe, be smart, and think positively! The best thing to do is stay informed, but don’t panic. We ask everyone to be careful and cautious so that we can beat this disease together!
