The Day Before

Let’s start with the day before, make sure to drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. This will help you to have energy, reduce your chance of dehydration, and will keep your skin bright and glowing! By drinking plenty of water and avoiding overly salty foods, you will eliminate the chance of bloating in the morning.

Make sure to do your nightly skin care routine and get plenty of rest. This will be very hard, we get it! You’re so excited that it can be hard to sleep.

Tips for a great night sleep

  • Take a warm bath or shower — Let go of all anxieties with a nice relaxing steam! Add some bubbles and your favorite music for a great spa night.

  • Lower the temperature in your room — the change in temperature will signal to your brain that it is time to sleep.

  • Practice Mindful Breathing and Meditation — Try yoga, breathing patterns, or meditation, these practices increase melatonin levels which help you sleep. You can find helpful guides online.

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day!

Don’t be tempted to skip breakfast because “you’re not a breakfast person” or you are worried about fitting into your dress. Eating breakfast is one of the most important things you can do! Once hair and makeup starts, you will be too busy and excited to think about eating lunch and we definitely don’t want a lightheaded couple at the ceremony!

If you’re worried about carbs, try having something high in protein like smoked salmon, eggs, and spinach. This will keep you full all morning! If you don’t eat fish or eggs, try steel-cut oats with nuts and berries. Drink a tall glass of water along with breakfast — remember, stay hydrated!

Get Prepped for Hair and Makeup

When hair and makeup gets there, you will want to be prepped and ready for them — make sure your hair is clean and dry as well as your skin ready and free of any products. We recommend wearing a robe or button down shirt, the last thing you want is to pull a shirt over your freshly styled hair and makeup.

Pack a Small Touch-Up Bag

This is optional! You may want to bring certain emergency items with you. Consider bringing back up lipstick, tissues, gum or breath mints, phone chargers, etc. Don’t go crazy loading up on things you’ll never need because then you’ll be lugging around a suitcase full of things you’ll never need.

Put Your Engagement Ring On!

It seems obvious, but it’s easy to overlook this. Your best man should have the wedding bands, but you should make sure to put on your engagement ring before leaving for the ceremony.

Now that you’ve prepared yourself for the elopement wedding ceremony, you’re ready! The day is going to be perfect. Relax girl, you got this!
