What do you do if you have to postpone your wedding?

While this is pretty much the worst-case scenario right now we have some tangible advice on what you can do to make the best of the situation!

If you want to or need to get married this year, we suggest planning a very simple intimate elopement at home or at an easy to get to destination. Many couples are choosing to do just the two of them and this can make it easier than having to decide on who to invite. Then postpone your wedding for next year or whenever makes sense for you so you still know you get to have your dream wedding once everything opens back up. We have had many couples get married after they were already officially wed and it did not take away from their wedding day one bit! 

If you don’t want to get married yet, schedule something memorable on your original wedding date - maybe an outdoor dinner for two where you exchange a gift or read your vows to each other, so you still get to celebrate on your day.

If you are needing to change your plans altogether think about having an intimate wedding this year and a big fun party next year when it is safer for everyone to get together. This way you have something great to look forward to. Many elopement couples do a hometown celebration anyway after their intimate wedding. Again we don’t think this lessens the experience at all and gives your guests a chance to celebrate with you - which we are sure they are dying to do!
